The most surprising game was the first loss ofMetapan (5-1) on the court of fifth ranked Santa Tecla on Wednesday night. Visitors were edged by Santa Tecla 83-81 . Dominican Xavier dela Rosa (196-1991) had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Sammy Colmenero (185-1992, college: SF State) chipped in 25 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Guatemalan point guard Lee Vasquez (173) scored 22 points. Santa Tecla (4-2) moved-up to fourth place. Metapan at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with San Salvador.
